NO WORKS CAN GAIN IT, NO WORKS CAN ABNEGATE IT

What makes anyone think and/or believe that, somehow, after Salvation, [sinners, who before Salvation - HAD/HAVE NO POWER against sin] somehow, [now attain to powers to affect / effect matters on their own initiative and behalf] after being saved ?

What makes anyone think and/or believe that, somehow, after Salvation, [sinners, who before Salvation - HAD/HAVE NO POWER to save themselves] somehow, [now attain to the power to "unsave" themselves] after being saved ?

What makes anyone think and/or believe that, somehow, after Salvation, [sinners, who before Salvation - HAD/HAVE NO POWER to attain and/or find Salvation] somehow, [now attain to the power to abnegate and lose it] after being saved ?

SALVATION IS NOT YOURS NOR WITHIN YOUR POWER TO GET NOR TO LOSE !!! 

NO "works" CAN affect nor effect SALVATION - because, Salvation comes not by works nor is lost by works.

THE SIMPLE ANSWER REMAINS AND IS - 

you are either saved -or- you are not.

SAVED means you believe in Jesus, His name and that you confess Him in the world before mankind i.e. your life will reflect your Salvation. 2 Thessalonians 3:3;
DOES NOT MEAN - perfectly: it means continuously, you will endure until the very end.
you may backslide / fall away by being deceived by lust, sin and every concupiscence and every wind of doctrine by the slight of men and their sayings, teachings, traditions and heresies - 
AND, IF, because of these many reasons listed above,  WE FAIL TO BELIEVE CERTAIN OTHER THINGS FOUND IN THE WORD OF GOD (to one's own destruction via wresting)
THIS ALSO MEANS AND INCLUDES - carnal christians and the carnal church -  
however,
HE IS YET FAITHFUL -  2 Timothy 2:13;
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
AND,
but God will be faithful - "who will reveal even this to you"
Philippians 3:15;
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Philippians 3:14-16;
you will be instructed, taught, restored and return - after you've so learned.

2 Timothy 2:12-14; i.e. ONLY ONE THING DECIDES AND DETERMINES OUR SALVATION

AND, YOU CAN'T EVEN DO THIS UNLESS IT BE THE WORK OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE !!!

but God will be faithful  -

THOSE WHO DEPART FROM THE FAITH / "fall away" from the faith, scripture declares "were not of" the faith to begin with.

i.e. even devils come unto the calling
false brethren and false prophets
Satan's ministers have their work in the church - 2 Corinthians 11:14-16;
doctrines and traditions of men
heresies and heretics
"fallow grounders"
who are known by their fruits - they wrest the word of God on most key and spiritual issues - because they cannot endure the Word thus spoken - therefore they speak evil and speak great and swelling words to do despite to the Spirit of grace - so as to have their own way.
WHICH SIGNIFIETH - "that they were not all of us"

UNSAVED means, your lost !!! i.e. you do not believe, you reject, despise, hate, denounce, Jesus, and His believers; and, that you do despite to the Spirit of Grace.  This is to be antichrist and atheist.

YOU CANNOT BE - lukewarm !!! i.e. half in -and, half out.

you are either in -or - your out !!!
